Luke Meyer's Portfolio

A minimal, bold portfolio that leads with personality and lets great work speak for itself.

Minimal portfolio site with centered project layout and interactive hover effects.

Why I Like This Site

I don't know Luke Meyer, but this portfolio makes me want to. It's minimal but bold in all the right ways, and there's a joke in the hero(which is an instant win in my book).

The whole thing is built around the work. Nothing clutters the experience. He's got a lot of strong pieces, and the layout just highlights them cleanly as you scroll. It's simple, and it works.

Layout and Flow

The structure is straightforward: scroll, see work, repeat. But the details add a lot. When you hover over a project, the entire background and cursor shift, which is a really nice touch. It adds depth and context without feeling gimmicky.

The hierarchy is confident. There's no second-guessing what you're supposed to look at. The work is front and center, and everything else supports it.

What I'd Steal From This

  • A clean, work-first layout that doesn't try to out-design the portfolio itself.
  • Using hover states to shift the entire context (background + cursor) instead of just the element.
  • Leading with personality in the hero to set tone before showing work.
  • Trusting minimalism to carry the experience when the work is strong.

What I'm Not Crazy About

My only complaint is that I came in expecting more jokes based on the hero, and then… nothing. Oh well, it's still awesome.
